Let us introduce you to Michelle Mc Ewan,one of the charming lady visiting us at the Cafe & Gallery.

Passionate about tomatoes, local food , biodiversity, environement, and social justice, she graduate as a geneticist in ” Biology and Botany” at UBC. She is now working at the “Earthwise Society ” in Boundary Bay as the” Outreach coordinator”.

Michelle, our “Tree Huger” said: ” The best thing about working in Boundary Bay is that I can have lunch at the cafe, go for a swim in the ocean, visit the gallery and be back at work within an hour… Where else can you do this ?

Visite des enseignantes et élèves du Baccalauréat International de l'école secondaire Jules-Verne de Vancouver à Boundary Bay Galerie et Café. © Pierre Le Provost

On Wednesday, October 7, 2009, we had the pleasure to welcome the students of the Secondary School Jules-Verne (Vancouver) enrolled in the school’s International Baccalaureat Programme. Students and their teachers strolled around the gallery and enjoyed the work of our acclaimed artists. They also had the opportunity to interview the artists who had come to share with them their vision. Then, artists, students and teachers all gathered together at noon to relish on a special lunch, adding a culinary touch to their visual pleasure. Many thanks to IB Coordinator Laurent Brisebois, to the teachers, the artists and “bien entendu” to the students for allowing us to share with them our passion for art and cuisine…

To begin this portrait series, let us introduce you to Shelley Lawder, art connoisseur, equine specialist and mother of one. A realtor at Royal Lepage,  Shelley has lived in Boundary Bay for a long time, knows the place by heart and the best opportunities in the area. Listening carefully to her prospectors’ wishes and desires, she will hunt down and find their dream house in this highly coveted part of Tsawwassen. She has been a dedicated customer since the very begining, enjoying Daniello’s al fresco dining and café cortito and has enthusiasticaly welcomed the opening of the gallery and the artists selected by Photographer Pierre Le Provost & Daniel Meneghini.  We greatly appreciate her warmth, liveliness, interests in many different topics and her encouraging words.

Yes! the opening of “The 4th One”  was a great success! 

We would like to thank you:

– dear artists who have entrusted us to show your work and have offered to our delighted eyes art at its best, allowing us to delve deeply into your creative worlds;

– dear art lovers, party afficionados, friends, acquaintances and incognitos (!) who came to the opening and enjoyed with us this really special evening and who keep coming everyday;

– dear little “elves” who have worked so hard to help and contribute to the making of the Gallery, Sandrine, Albane, Donna Nena Pepona, Don José su majestad del tirbu-chono, Donna Daniela, Tara, Véronique, Hamida, Johnny Be Good, Don Luis de la Bibite, Don Jean-Marc de los abeillos, Donna Mirkette, Don Dan del Quay Pacifico, Donna Jenny a passionada de las artes…
